SW-MOTECH updates Legend Gear Luggage Line

Legend Gear was created by SW-MOTECH over a decade ago for Harley-Davidsons. Since then, it has become a go-to choice for all types of motorcycles, from sportbikes to adventure-touring machines. Legend Gear is a full range of classically designed, modern luggage that includes tank bags, rack-mounted saddlebags, semi-rigid LH side cases and a selection of smaller MOLLE-compatible phone holders, expansion pouches and water bottle holsters.

For 2025, SW-MOTECH has updated the line with new materials. Now in black only, with similar synthetic leather accents, the fabric has been upgraded to a durable Eco-Tech material which features higher UV resistance and a softer more cotton-like feel. Aside from materials, the design of several bags has been updated along with the introduction of some all-new products. SW-MOTECH will release additional updates to the line later this year.

PRO Tank Ring System Comes to Legend Gear

For the first time, Legend Gear will include an option for a PRO Tank Ring System (TRS) tank bag. The predecessor, Tank Bag LT1, was available with a magnetic attachment system. With the redesigned LT3, riders can choose between the traditional magnetic bag or a new PRO TRS model for a scratch-proof and convenient quick disconnect system. Both bags feature internal zippered mesh pockets and an expansion zipper for extra capacity.

Legend Gear Tail Bag LR5

The LR5 tail bag offers 52 litres of capacity, up from 48 litres of the LR2 it replaces. New features include the contrast interior colour, double lids with zippered and mesh pockets for excellent organisation out on the road.

Two large pockets allow quick access from either end of the bike. A non-slip bottom, interior waterproof liner bag and MOLLE panels for attaching extras round out the features of this versatile and capable horseshoe-shaped tail bag. Adding the matching Shoulder Strap LA12 (sold separately) makes the LR5 a convenient grab-and-go bag for campsites, cabins or hotels at the end of the day.

All-New Legend Gear Tail Bag LR4

At 18 litres, the all-new Legend Gear Tail Bag LR4 fills a perfect size niche in the Legend Gear lineup. The LR4 fits well with most types of bikes and can be mounted on the passenger seat or a rear rack. It also includes stashable straps for attaching to a sissy-bar and its width doesn't interfere with the top-loading Legend Gear LC1/2 or LH saddlebag systems. It features a vertical expansion zipper to provide up to 25 litres of capacity and the same double-lid enclosure as it's bigger sibling, the LR5.

New Accessory Bags LA9 and LA10

SW-MOTECH has also introduced two new bags, the LA9 and LA10 Accessory Bags to expand organisation options for Legend Gear systems. Both bags feature contrast interior colour and convenient interior mesh and zipper pockets to organise small items. 

The LA10 is a great pouch for everyday pocket items like sunglasses, keys, multi-tool or small first-aid items. MOLLE straps on the bag allow you to attach the LA9 to the lid of any SW-MOTECH tank bag or add to any MOLLE panel on the SW-MOTECH DryBags or Legend Gear tail bags.

The more horizontal format LA9 has multiple included straps so it can be mounted just about anywhere. The LA9 makes a great bag to mount on crash bars, rear rails or to other bags like the Legend Gear Tail Bag LR5. With a 2.5-liter capacity, you can use it for larger items like an air pump, battery jumper, tools or a larger first aid kit.
